Dr. Brian Furgione is a former Newsela research scientist who had over a decade's worth of experience in the classroom as a K-12 social studies teacher, instructional coach, and assistant professor of education. His research work focused on bridging theory with practice, supporting teachers, and providing students with the best conditions for growth.
